Cost Benefits
Direct Savings
The basic premise of the Xeros cleaning system is to provide superior
cleaning whilst achieving unbeatable savings on water, detergent,
heating power and effluent costs. Quite what this means to individual laundry owners (or domestic users) is dependent on what washing system you currently use and the prices you pay for utilities. In commercial laundry, Xeros is conducting an “Affirmation Programme” with a variety of customers specialising in different laundry services.
We measure the utility consumption and costs of their current washing equipment and then benchmark that versus a Xeros cleaning system we install. Specific data on saving by customer has to remain confidential, however, below are some broad indicators based on field trial results to date.
| Cost Factor | Conventional Washing | Xeros Cleaning | Saving |
| Water (litres per kg washload) | 20.0 | 5.6 | 72% |
| Heat (KwH per kg of wash load | 0.17 | 0.09 | 47% |
| Detergent (g/kg of wash load) | 16.0 | 8.0 | 50% |
Please also view the videos of two field trial partners who tested an earlier prototype system in 2011.
Case studies
If a prototype system delivered such excellent results for them, think how much a final Xeros cleaning system could save you!
Indirect savings
Of course, costs in a laundry extend far beyond the basic direct costs of water, detergent and heating power. We will gather data in our Affirmation Programme that delivers specific information on a variety of indirect cost savings that Xeros cleaning delivers but below are indications of what else Xeros can deliver to your bottom line:
| Xeros Advantage | Xeros Technology Feature |
|---|---|
|
Less pre-treatment chemistry and time |
The power of Xeros cleaning means trialists have been able to reduce pre-treatment without any decrease in cleaning performance. This is especially true for greasy collar and cuff stains that Xeros polymer beads are particularly tuned to remove. |
|
Less sorting of washing |
Thanks to Xeros low temperature cleaning and polymer beads there is less need to sort mixed colours saving labour and complexity in your operation. |
|
Longer lasting fabrics |
Heat, detergent and conventional mechanical action can all lead to garments losing their “new look” colour and even wearing out. Xeros bead cleaning provides a more uniform, gentle cleaning action. Garments crease less in the wash, lower detergent chemistry is spread evenly, and all the cleaning is conducted at lower temperatures. This all leads to clothes looking newer for longer and can extend garment and flatwork life. |
|
Linen recovery |
The rising cost of linen means linen throwaway has an ever increasing impact on the bottom line. Xeros superior cleaning means that more linen can be recovered when conventional cleaning fails to remove difficult, washed-in stains. |
